Public & Plants Leicester

Public’s Leicester flagship sits within Canopy, a creative industries hub supported by Leicester City Council. Once Pilot House, the site formed part of Leicester's King Street industrial quarter, home to hosiery factories from the 1950s to the 1980s. A renovated glass roof over a former depot entrance, now fills the space with natural light, we echoed this by installing a greenhouse retail zone that extends the Public & Plants ethos. The café acts as a threshold between indoors and out, a calm, sheltered environment wrapped in greenery, where planting and diffused light maintain a quiet garden atmosphere all year-round.
