Info
This project explores how human negligence can be integrated into design. It began with the loss of my pet rabbit—an abrupt, unexplained event that exposed failures of care and attention. That experience led me to examine both the incident itself and the making of fine bone china, a material that once defined Staffordshire’s ceramic industry. The resulting collection uses these parallels to show how controlled imperfection can become a design feature. The project also opened the door to Stoke’s master craftsmen—mould makers, glazing chemists, clay specialists—resulting in a body of documentation capturing their daily life and work.
